A Return to the Slow Path

For over thirty years, I have designed and built furniture from my Ontario workshop, guided by a deep respect for material, proportion, and permanence.

Each piece begins with carefully sourced hardwood, selected for its character and integrity. Through traditional joinery and a deliberate, exacting process, it is shaped into work that is both precise and enduring.

The work does not follow trends. It is made to endure—quiet in presence, balanced in form, and grounded in material.

To commission this work is to choose restraint, craftsmanship, and longevity: materials that age with grace, and forms that bring a sense of calm and permanence to the home.

Furniture with soul

For over thirty years, I have hand-built furniture for considered interiors from my Ontario workshop.

Each piece begins with responsibly sourced hardwood. Carefully chosen proportions define the form; traditional joinery ensures its integrity.  The result is work that is quiet, precise, and built to endure. Commissions undertaken selectively.  Serving the GTA and surrounding area.

Commissions

I take on a limited number of projects each year to ensure each piece receives the time and attention it deserves.

Discovery & Design

Every project begins with a conversation — in person or by video. We discuss your space, how the piece will be used, proportions, material preferences, and budget range.

Following this discussion, I prepare a detailed design proposal outlining dimensions, timber selection, construction approach, timeline, and a fixed quote.

A design fee of $300.00 is required to begin this phase. The fee is credited toward the final balance should you proceed with the build.

The Build

Once the design is approved and a 50% deposit is received, the materials are sourced and your piece enters my build schedule.

Each project is constructed in solid hardwood using time-tested joinery and carefully considered detailing. Surfaces are finished to highlight the natural character of the wood and to age gracefully over time.

Throughout the build, you will receive periodic photo updates from the workshop so you can see the work as it progresses.

Typical lead time is 8–14 weeks, depending on scope and my current schedule.

Delivery & Placement

For major pieces within 1.5 hours of Kitchener, Ontario, I personally oversee delivery and installation. Furniture built with care deserves to be placed with the same attention.

For clients outside the region, shipping arrangements can be coordinated as needed.

Investment

Most commissions begin in the mid four-figure range. Final pricing reflects scale, material selection, and complexity.

Begin the Conversation

If you feel aligned with this approach, I invite you to get in touch with a brief description of your project, location, and timeline.
